While videoconferencing is not a new phenomenon in litigation, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to primarily use videoconferencing for depositions, trials, and other hearings, as it has made us feel safer, and in some cases, has made us more productive, and is saving us time and money when it comes to expensive travel costs.
Participants may be recorded during the videoconference, but videoconferences are not saved and not used for trial purposes.
If your case requires a video for trial preservation, consider having it be videotaped by a qualified legal videographer, and in person.
